Supporting football in our local schools

In 2025, Burwood FC is proud to support our dedicated primary public school teachers in Sydney’s inner west, who are giving their time and energy to coach football.

Through our partnership with the Inner West PSSA, Burwood FC is offering coaching support, formal qualifications, logistical and other assistance into 10 local schools.

We couldn’t have asked for a better start than Fiona Craven from Football Canterbury and Paul Higgins from Football NSW backing the initiative by running a first-class Foundation of Football coaching course.

If the kids are as engaged and focused (and as competitive!) as their teachers were while taking part in the sessions  - then the quality of footballers the PSSA helps encourage and shape is looking bright.
