Teresa Polias called the girls in for an inspiring team talk on change in female football telling them that for her Matildas World Cup warm up game in 2015 there were 5000 spectators. In 2023 there’s a crowd of 55,000. Member for Strathfield Jason Yat-Sen Li spoke about the importance of sport in ensuring overall well-being.
With Club President Michael Makaritis letting the girls know Football Australia had just named Burwood FC as one of its female game changers in club football.
Oh yeah and NZ beat France, Brazil and the USA in our World Cup tournament…. unlikely to be repeated in the next month….
