Now in its third year Burwood FC’s female skills programme is all about playing and staying
in football whatever your age or ability. It brings together a diverse range of ages and abilities in a fun and fast-paced environment focused on growing confidence and enjoyment of the game.
When and where does it run?
The first skills programme is on Friday February 17th at Blair Park 6-7pm, then at the same
time and location on February 24th , March 3rd , March 10th and 17th . Activities then run
throughout the season.
Who runs it?
Teresa Polias as our new head skills coach for female football at the Club. Teresa’s football career includes playing for the Young Matilda’s, Matilda’s and captained Sydney FC to two titles. She holds the record for the most games played in the A-League.
How much does it cost?
It’s free for Club members. For those thinking of joining Burwood FC you can also attend the
skills nights for no cost.
Do I have to register?
No. For February and March just turn up at Blair Park.
What if I’ve never played football?
Then you’ll be in good company. There will be plenty of players new to football and plenty
who have been with the Club for some time who will make you feel welcome.
Do I need boots and shin pads?
Ideally but not essentially. We will have some shin pads available but if you’re trying out
football a good pair of runners will be fine for the first few weeks.
